You Can Drink Your Veggies!

Do you have a difficult time getting in 4 cups of vegetables every day? No Worries. Here’s how…

The shopping, prepping and cooking can take a lot of time right, and if you are like me, don’t always fit that into our daily schedules. So what to do?

Many of our BonVie Ideal Protein dieters have told me about an easy and quick way to consume all their veggies, even on the run! What’s their solution?

The Magic Bullet blender! I finally took heed and purchased one and for the last week, I have been having a blast making vegetable-based smoothies. Most “Shake” recipes call for heavy fruit content but that just adds a lot of sugar without all the micronutrients and fiber of vegetables. By experimenting you can make very delicious smoothies without the fruit by selecting tasty greens, veggies, flavorings, and texture.

For those of you on a low carb/sugar weight loss program such as our BonVie Ideal Protein method, you are required to have 4 cups of low-glycemic veggies every day. These are veggies with a very low sugar count. Fruits are not allowed in Phase 1 of our program due to the Fructose which will take you out of fat burning. But even without fruit, you can still make a tasty smoothie by adding an Ideal Protein shake such as Vanilla, Chocolate, Cappuccino to give you the sweetness and flavor. And with the Strawberry-Banana, Mango or Wild Berry Yogurt shakes, you get the delicious taste of fruit along with 15-20 grams of High-Biological Protein!

My favorite shake concoction today? Spinach, Kale, or Arugula from the garden, cucumber along with fresh ginger or lemon-grass paste, nutmeg, and an Ideal Protein shake. So far I’ve tried Chocolate, Vanilla, Wild Berry Yogurt flavors and next time will do the Mango or Pina Colada flavors. They are all delicious, healthy and incredibly filling, and satisfying.

For those of you not wanting to lose body fat, then go ahead and add some natural fruit; just be sure you are still adding the veggies and high-quality protein to get the most health benefits.
